I got same error during IBM RSA (Rational Software Architect) installation on Ubuntu 11.10, in it’s [manageprofiles.sh] installation step!

I’m surprised how you discovered this?!!!, 1024GB thanks to you for your info!

Thanks a lot for this! Even now this was helpful. However there are always problems. Thanks to your post I managed to install WebSphere on the job, but an attempt to do the same thing on my home laptop was unsuccessful. For some reason I can’t even launch “install” in WAS folder. I tried to run it in terminal as well to no avail. It runs without any output, but doesn’t launch GUI installer. Can’t figure out what’s going on…
